We are pleased to announce that the Customer Identification Program effective for purposes of the e-gold Value Access Plan (“VAP CIP”) is now available on the e-gold website. Since completion of VAP CIP will be a prerequisite to making a VAP Claim, we encourage Users to complete VAP CIP as soon as possible. Users who have already completed User CIP should login to their accounts to confirm no required actions are listed in their VAP CIP Checklist.
VAP CIP Checklist
After a successful e-gold account login, a context sensitive VAP CIP Checklist is displayed to the authenticated User. Throughout the VAP CIP process, the VAP CIP Checklist summarizes the User actions required to complete VAP CIP, provides direct hyperlinks to any pages requiring User actions, and reports the current review status of information previously submitted.
VAP CIP Requirements
VAP CIP requirements can be summarized as follows:
- Complete User CIP.
- Complete Owner CIP.
While Users have previously been able to categorize account ownership (User, Business, Trust, Joint, etc), Users have not been able until now to provide the information and supporting documents pertaining to account Owners necessary to complete Owner CIP for Ownership Compositions that include an Owner other than the User.
Ownership Composition
An Ownership Composition consists of the following:
- Linked Accounts – List of accounts controlled by the same User and having the same ownership composition.
- Owners – Identifying and address information for the Owner(s) of Linked Accounts, including documents to verify identity and address of Owner(s) that are human beings (“Individuals”).
- Owner Resolution – A resolution by the Owner(s) delegating control of account(s) to the User. An Owner Resolution is only required if there is an Owner who is not the User.
- Signatories – Identifying and address information for any Individual(s) signing Owner Resolution on behalf of Owner(s), including documents to verify identity and address. Examples: Director for a corporation, a Trustee for a Trust, or a parent for a minor child.
