Cork Chamber guest luncheon with Guest Speaker - Colm Lyon, CEO, Realex Payments will take place on 30/04/10 . Colm founded Realex Payments in 2000 and since then the business has grown year on year and now has offices in Dublin, London and Paris. In 2009 he was awarded the Internet Hero Award at the Golden Spider Awards for his contribution to the Irish Internet Industry and in 2005, was acclaimed and rewarded for his leadership when he was a finalist of the Ernst and Young Entrepreneur of the Year Award.
As an industry figure he was Director and Chairman of the Irish Internet Association for over four years - during which time the association significantly enhanced its position and was awarded life-time membership of the association in 2007 in recognition of his contribution.
In 2009 Colm founded the "Internet Growth Alliance", a business led initiative to support the international growth ambitions of Irish Internet businesses. This has resulted in Enterprise Ireland launching the Internet Growth Alliance Programme which has 15 high potential Irish Internet businesses enrolled. The programme will provide applicants with the tools and skills to develop and execute aggressive international growth plans and scale their business. Colm is involved in other internet start up businesses and has plans to launch a major new payment business in 2010. His career has spanned over twenty five years in payment related businesses, starting with fourteen years in the financial service sector.
