Founded by award winning entrepreneur Colm Lyon in 2000, the Company continues to grow rapidly and now processes over €9 billion per annum for 3,500 clients domestically and internationally. In 2009, Realex Payments founder Colm Lyon was recognised for his contribution to the Irish Internet Industry, when he was awarded the Internet Hero Award at the Golden Spider Awards. In the same year, Colm founded the “Internet Growth Alliance”, a business led initiative to support the international growth ambitions of Irish Internet businesses.
As one of the fastest growing payment service providers in Europe, Realex Payments experienced a 47% increase in the value of transactions processed from the first quarter of 2009 to the first quarter of 2010. Recently all new Webtopay.com customers have already noticed the some changes, and now it is time to experience them. The changes have to be made till 3rd of May, 2010. |
There will be quite a lot of Webtopay.com changes. However, the changes, requiring you to reprogram your website part, are only in this letter. The whole month will be used to implement these new changes and we will undertake every effort to ensure the transition of new operating principles is as smooth as possible. From May 03rd, 2010 all changes will be obligatory, and till the date mentioned both new and exiting systems are operational.

Cork Chamber guest luncheon with Guest Speaker - Colm Lyon, CEO, Realex Payments will take place on 30/04/10 . Colm founded Realex Payments in 2000 and since then the business has grown year on year and now has offices in Dublin, London and Paris. In 2009 he was awarded the Internet Hero Award at the Golden Spider Awards for his contribution to the Irish Internet Industry and in 2005, was acclaimed and rewarded for his leadership when he was a finalist of the Ernst and Young Entrepreneur of the Year Award.
As an industry figure he was Director and Chairman of the Irish Internet Association for over four years - during which time the association significantly enhanced its position and was awarded life-time membership of the association in 2007 in recognition of his contribution.
In 2009 Colm founded the "Internet Growth Alliance", a business led initiative to support the international growth ambitions of Irish Internet businesses. This has resulted in Enterprise Ireland launching the Internet Growth Alliance Programme which has 15 high potential Irish Internet businesses enrolled. The programme will provide applicants with the tools and skills to develop and execute aggressive international growth plans and scale their business. Colm is involved in other internet start up businesses and has plans to launch a major new payment business in 2010. His career has spanned over twenty five years in payment related businesses, starting with fourteen years in the financial service sector.
